After the apprenticeship, we offer you employment and enable you to attend the two-year technical college in Korbach while you work, with the goal of becoming a "state-certified business administrator HGG".


Meaning

The school trains responsible and performance-oriented specialists with relevant professional experience to become managers in the hotel and catering industry. Further education and professional activity are combined in this type of school, as the training takes place part-time under the motto "work and further education".
The contents of the training are geared to the diverse tasks of middle and senior managers. They are incorporated into the currently valid framework curricula. The students are prepared for their future tasks through action-oriented or project-oriented instruction in the school's modern classrooms and, thanks to good contacts with well-known companies, also on site.Objective
Goals of the two-year technical school:

  • Enabling students to take on management tasks in middle management in the hotel and catering industry.
  • Preparation for self-employment
  • Deepening of professional competence from vocational training and work experience, especially in the areas of language and business administration
  • Acquisition of methodological and personal competence for communicative, responsible teamwork


Degree

  • Final examination to become a state-certified business economist after three years of part-time instruction
  • Acquisition of the instructor qualification by means of an additional examination
  • Acquisition of the advanced technical college entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife) with an appropriate grade point average and additional instruction in general education subjects


Lesson organization, duration

Part-time, in-service instruction:

  • Three years on two school days for a total of 20 hours/week (Monday and Tuesday).
  • These three years are divided into two training periods of 1 ½ years each
  • Two project weeks (40 hours each in addition) within the three years


Lessons

Learning Area I: German, English, Politics, Economics, Law and Environment, Vocational and Occupational Pedagogy.
Learning area II: economics, business mathematics, accounting, law, information processing, Spanish
Learning area III: hotel and restaurant management, marketing, tourism, personnel and organizational development, project work
Compulsory elective area: mathematics, business management and business start-up
